Background
Trying to be creative and innovative on demand is a challenging task even if you are regularly called upon to do it.  There is, however, a straightforward process consisting of a combination of creative/innovative thinking attitudes, processes, perspectives and skills that is effective in providing  a consistently good starting point.
Creativity, even “arts creativity” is the process of making and communicating meaningful new connections.  In business the best of these ideas have value added to them in an attempt to create goods and services that people will buy.
Using the 4 Pillars on a regular and ongoing basis will position you to generate new ideas worthy of consideration in your business.  Note, this is not a one-time thing; it is not an inoculation, but more like a healthy diet.
The 4 Pillars are:
· Separate your thinking – first make lists and then make choices.
· Question your assumptions – we all think we know how the world works – we don’t.
· Generate new perspective – we live in comfortable ruts, get out of them.
· Reframe problems as questions –  our brains love to attach answers to questions – give it a chance.
The pillars appear so straightforward, how could we not use them to build the mental framework that would lead us and our company to innovate based on a deliberate process?
